Event description:
The integrity of bolted joints in corrosive environments is a critical factor in the operational reliability of industrial assets in sectors such as oil and gas, mining, and infrastructure. In Latin America, a structural gap persists between regulatory compliance and its technical implementation in the field, stemming from an incomplete interpretation of the order of precedence of regulations.
This webinar aims to address this gap from a practical perspective, analyzing how regulations establish compliance requirements but do not necessarily guarantee the actual performance of systems in operation.
During the session, the influence of friction control (K-factor) and preload consistency as determining variables in the integrity of bolted joints will be explored in depth. The importance of evaluating coating systems not only for their corrosion resistance but also for their impact on load transfer will also be presented, using torque-tension tests according to ISO 16047 and validation under ASTM F3393.
Participants will gain clear technical criteria to improve the reliability of their systems, aligning regulatory compliance with actual field performance.
Syllabus / technical content:
- Order of normative prevalence in the management of integrity of bolted joints.
