Start Who we are

American Institute of Coatings and Corrosion

Technical knowledge.
A community with purpose.

We are IARCOR INTERNATIONAL. We bring training and the exchange of experiences to those who work to protect infrastructure against corrosion, from surface preparation to inspection and coating management.

01 / Our story

We were born to bring people closer
knowledge.

IARCOR was born in 2017 in Latin America, from a shared need: to expand access to technical training in Spanish for corrosion and coatings professionals.

This purpose brings together people at different stages of their careers: students discovering the sector, technicians strengthening their practice, inspectors developing their judgment, and professionals coordinating projects.

Today, our work is expressed through training and certification programs, technical meetings, publications, and opportunities for participation. These are different ways to learn from experience and keep the exchange of ideas among colleagues alive.

02 / Our purpose

To contribute to a better-informed professional practice and the preservation of our infrastructure.

What drives us

To bring knowledge about corrosion, coatings, and surface preparation closer to those who make decisions, perform work, and inspect its quality. To connect technical fundamentals with the challenges of professional practice.

Where do we want to go?

A community in the Americas that finds opportunities to continue learning, share experience, and participate in the development of the sector. Continuous training and collaboration are part of that path.

03 / What do we do

From learning to technical exchange.

  1. 01

    Training and certification

We offer tours covering coating inspection, industrial and marine projects, preparation and application, corrosion, and non-destructive testing. Each course description explains its content, entry requirements, and evaluation criteria.

  2. 02

    Meetings and resources

Webinars, discussions, and workshops offer insights and experiences from the sector. Journals, technical articles, and recordings allow for continued research after the event.

  3. 03

    Community and participation

Student chapters, administrators, and volunteers create spaces for collaboration. The IARCOR Awards recognize contributions and achievements connected to our community.

04 / People make community

There is more than one way
to participate.

You can start by reading an article, exploring a program, or participating in a meeting. If you want to contribute your expertise, volunteering and collaboration opportunities offer other ways to get involved.

Premium membership offers access to resources and activities, subject to published terms and conditions. Membership, event participation, and professional certification have different purposes and requirements.

05 / Guiding Principles

How we want to do things.

Ethics and clarity

Communicate the requirements, scope, and conditions so that each person can make informed decisions.

Rigor and continuous improvement

Promote lifelong learning and review of our practices, paying attention to the needs of the sector.

Access to knowledge

To make technical content available in Spanish and offer different entry points to learning and participation.

Collaboration and respect

To value people's experience, the time they share, and their contribution to community development.

Let's build the next step.
